What is included in the Advanced TEFL Program:
Young Learners in the ESL - Classroom
This course focuses specifically on teaching the youngest and most vulnerable members of our classes in primary education. This course will cover the following areas:
ESP: business
This course focuses specifically on teaching in the business sector. This course will cover the following areas:
Pronunciation and phonetics for Spanish speakers
This course expands on the fundamentals of pronunciation and phonetics which were presented during the TEFL certificate course.
Advanced Grammar for ESL teachers
Whilst trainees leave the TEFL Certificate course with a basic understanding of the English Grammar System, this advanced course gives them more in-depth in to the grammar structures. Trainees will also explore more techniques for teaching advanced grammar in the classroom.
New Methodologies in the ESL classroom
This course looks at other teaching methods than PPP. We will explore their effectiveness in the ESL classroom, their strengths and weaknesses. Trainees will be required to apply these methods in their current teaching practices and evaluate their appropriateness for their teaching context.
Exams & assessment in ESL
This course is an in-depth look at the current range of exam suites (both adults and young learners) available and/or popular in Spain and the reasons students study these exams. Trainees will discover how to help students to prepare for these exams and what materials are available. We also discover more about informal testing and its essential place in the ESL classroom.
Final Project
Students will design a final project based on their work placement. This must include active based research. Students will be allocated a final project supervisor who will agree the final project with them and organize weekly tutorials to ensure the trainee is on track.
