Meet our experienced Teacher Trainers, proficient in assessing the specific needs and requirements of our trainees.
Edna has been working as a teacher and teacher trainer at IH Mexico since 2000. She has been a CELTA trainer since 2004. She initially set up the CELTA training centers in Playa del Carmen, Mexico City and Cuernavaca. She is a TKT, ICELT, DELTA Tutor and a CELTA Assessor. She has had experience with many different types of classes: general, academic and business English, exam classes, 1-to-one and so on. She worked for The Anglo Mexican Cultural Institute, where she was a Teacher, Teacher trainer and Director of Studies. She has also worked for the Tecnológico de Monterrey. She has done teacher training in Mexico and The United States. She assesses CELTA Centers in North, Central, South America and in other parts of the world.
Richard was born in London and did his BA in English Language and History at Oxford University. He has the CELTA and DELTA qualifications and has worked as a language teacher in Spain, Turkey, Brazil and Saudi Arabia. He has a MA in Applied Linguistics (University of Kent, UK) and a MA in Stylistics & Modern English Language (Royal Holloway University of London, UK). He also has a considerable amount of teacher development experience working on BA ELT, MA ELT, ICELT, DELTA and CELTA courses in different parts of Mexico with the British Council, Anglo Mexican Foundation. He is also a worldwide official DELTA assessor and is a moderator for ICELT in Mexico.
Jean is a teacher trainer and ELT consultant. She has worked in the UK, Japan and Mexico. She has a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham, a PGCE from the Institute of Education, University of London and the DELTA. The posts she has held include Director of the Instituto Anglo Mexicano in Guadalajara, British Council Regional Manager in Western Mexico for Teacher Training and Senior Development Editor in ELT for the publisher Cengage Learning. She has given CELTA courses in Mexico since 2009.
Louise was born in Manchester, England and studied her undergraduate BA hons music degree at the University of Leeds. She has the CELTA and DELTA qualifications as well as the IHCYLT in teaching English as a second language to young learners. Louise also has a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) from Manchester Metropolitan University and is a qualified secondary school teacher in the UK. With a vast amount of experience in ESOL, EFL, ESP and state school teaching, Louise has worked in various places around the UK, Switzerland, Spain and Mexico as both a full-time teacher and YL coordinator for large English language academies. As well as her work as a CELTA tutor and Cambridge examiner, Louise continues to lecture in academic English at the University of Sheffield every summer and works as a writer and reviewer of new English language material for Cambridge University Press throughout the year.
