To ensure that our TEFL certification meets international standards in quality and deliverance, this curriculum has been externally monitored and approved for accreditation by TQUK, an officially recognized Awarding Organization that is recognized and regulated by Ofqual, the British Government body responsible for monitoring and maintaining educational standards in the United Kingdom. The curriculum also meets internationally recognized requirements by providing 180 hours of academic work and including 10 hours of practicum (student teaching/observation).
The school is ideally located in the heart of Chicago's Near North Side. Situated in the dynamic neighborhood of Lakeview, we are a mile away from Lake Michigan on Diversey Parkway just north of Lincoln Park, DePaul University and one mile south of world famous Wrigley Field (home of the Chicago Cubs for you sports fans). With the Diversey Brown Line "El" (subway) stop just a block away, public transportation is easily accessible. It's a quick 15 minute ride to "The Loop" in downtown Chicago, which is home to the city's greatest architectural and cultural landmarks, including Michigan Avenue, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Field Museum, Soldier Field, the Willis Tower (famously known as the Sears Tower), and hundreds of world class restaurants, shops and bars.
The Teaching English as a Foreign Language course is held at a newly built training center, spread over more than 4,000 square feet. This complex includes brand new classroom facilities, computer work stations, reference library and student lounge. We are five minutes away from Lake Michigan and 15 minutes from downtown Chicago by train or car.
During your certificate program in Chicago, you will receive instruction from university-level professors and work with our highly experienced team of advisors and support staff. Our staff members have all lived, traveled and worked abroad, and collectively we have lived and traveled in more than 80 countries around the globe. In fact, because we like to practice what we preach, it is actually a requirement that all staff members have extensive international travel and work experience.
