TEACHING ENGLISH TO SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES WITH OPTIONAL CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY TKT

(4 Weeks, 120 Hours): Monday through Friday

The full-time Diploma Program is a very intense 4 week program! There is quite a lot of outside work that needs to be completed in order to be successful in the program. The course is designed with a balance between practical and theoretical learning. Students will receive a great amount of practice during the program and will be able to observe the ESL classes during the day. We recommend that students who enroll in this program do not have any other work or personal commitments.

• Prepares students to take the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test.
• Four-week course that focuses on a high degree of interaction between instructor and students.
• Builds confidence and fluency in speaking and presentation skills.
• Option to take the internationally-recognized Cambridge University TKT exam.
• Observation and peer teaching.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The objectives of this course are to teach students the fundamentals of TESOL and to prepare students for the optional Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test. Students who take this course will build their confidence and improve their skills by leading ESL activities and giving presentations; students will also learn the fundamentals of TESOL, including peer-teaching and observation.

• Vocabulary building component: Learn the TKT glossary and TESOL terminology
• Confidence building component: Develop speaking and presentation skills, and gain confidence through peer teaching and observation
• TESOL vocabulary and terminology

Upon graduation you will receive your TESOL Certificate of 4 weeks.
